Quick Hits
Hey, reader. Long time. My fault. Totally. As it turns out, the closer we get to Walk Day, the more things I have to juggle. Can you believe I leave in less than a month? Yeah. Neither can I.
Point is I’ve precious little time to do anything, and as a result, the blogging’s suffered. Fortunately, the book-writing hasn’t, and I’ve got new material to ship out here shortly. It features a battle scene staged right outside my front door. I’m excited to share it with you.
In the interest of time-management, Imma keep this one short, reader. Just a few little points, a couple quick hits, to brighten your day:
- Ordering a small number of things online is ridiculously easy and usually fun. Ordering a large number of things online (like, say, an extensive array of ultralight camping equipment) is neither. I’ve been glaring at my computer screen for three consecutive evenings.
- Adama’s gonna look like the man in this and these.
- When I began working out back in early January, I weighed 165 pounds and had my fair share of body fat. I could do about fifteen pushups before I began to tire and maybe eight (chair-assisted) pull-ups. A mere eight weeks later, I weigh 175 pounds, have far less body fat, and can do fifty pushups and twenty consecutive pull-ups before I even begin to break a sweat. Tony Horton, I’m sorry I ever doubted you (or called you a “Fitness Nozzle”).
- Today, a dead man received a $250 million record contract. Personally, I can’t wait to play the proposed Michael Jackson videogame. Whatever the premise, I hope there’s a button that allows for superfluous crotch-grabbing.
- Despite what the donation page suggests, fundraising is going remarkably well. Pledges are running strong. I’m still well short of my $5k goal, though, so if you’re considering pledging, I’d be happy to accommodate you.
- I’m taking the Irish to win at least two games in the Dance. Slow burn, baby. Slow burn!
- I’m still trying to crank out the second site. And I’m working on the countdown meter, as well. Regarding the latter, there are many free applications that can be posted to one’s website, but you should see how hideous they are. Only the highest quality here at WWG, reader. Only the highest quality.
- Listening to Lady Ga Ga’s music gives me a feeling in the pit of my stomach, and that feeling is remarkably similar to the dull ache that remains with you a good twenty minutes after getting roshamboed (NSFW), but I have to say, her new video is incredible (though definitely NSFW).
- Since I had to cut the Keys out of the front-end of my walk (can’t legally walk the 100-mile bridge between the islands and the mainland), Jeanette and I have planned a celebratory post-walk vacation to take place in Key West in September. Anyone willing to brave the height of hurricane season is welcome to join – though you’ll have to book your own room.
Speaking of Jeanette, I can’t tell you how instrumental have been her contributions to the planning process. Seriously, in more ways than one, I wouldn’t make it without her. I probably wouldn’t have even reached this point. If not for her prodding and reminding, I’d still be some flabby Pittsburgh novice with a decent idea and a disobedient dog. I’d be staring down my Walk Day having done absolutely no preparation. So thank you, Jeanette. I love you.
Well, alright. I’ll end on that note. Have an excellent rest of your Tuesday, reader. I’ll check back with you tomorrow.

Glad to see Tony worked for you, I’m starting to see some results as well. Not quite up 20 pullups yet, but getting there. As for the Lady Gaga video, it’s legendary. I think I’ve watched a dozen or so times, and it gets better with each viewing.
