Reader, on this dreary Monday, I’m happy to finally share with you the latest excerpt from What We’ve Got.  I know it’s later than I promised, so for that, I apologize.  I’m a nozzle.  And by “nozzle,” I mean the business end of one of these.  Feel free to dislike me on Facebook (and please, for the love of all things holy, stop sending me invitations to join the “Dislike Button” group).  In any case, now you know what it’s like to be one of my ghostwriting clients: Receive promise for latest chapter by EOD Friday, or over the weekend, at the latest; Receive said chapter late in the day on Monday; Roll your eyes at the flimsy excuse that accompanies overdue delivery.

For this particular delay, I have no excuse, flimsy or otherwise – save for the fact that I value my weekends more than most people who work from home in these perpetually-connected times in which we live.  That and I had one of the shittiest Sundays (both literally and figuratively) on record.  The first thing Adama did yesterday morning was poop squarely on the fret of my Guitar Hero controller.  Seriously.  And he ain’t exactly the picture of digestive health at the moment, if you catch my drift.  It was so nasty I had to just throw the thing away.  It’s in a garbage bag on my curb right now, if anyone’s gross enough to try and salvage it.

Anyway, about the excerpt…I’m still not sure how I feel about it.  I’m starting to think that part of the reason it took so long is that I’m not happy with the voice I’ve chosen for Dub.  Suffice to say, there may be changes forthcoming; and in the meantime, I’m glad to be moving on to the Battle of Pittsburgh storyline, which I plan to compose (in total) and share (in part) prior to my walk.

Either way, I hope the excerpt was worth the wait.  I welcome your comments on the excerpt (or whatever’s on your mind, really) via the comment button below.  I really do take feedback seriously, so let me know if anything seems lame.  Meantime, I’ll get back to the keys and have another blog post to you tomorrow, reader.  Have an excellent rest-of-your-Monday.
